What is a cobbler?

Cobblers are a type of shoe repairer. However, shoe cobblers were often forbidden from working with new leather. Then, around the turn of the century, the two professions combined. That's when industrialisation made it possible to mass-produce shoes. Therefore, shoemakers who were laid off typically turned to shoe repair to supplement their income.

Dress shoes, boots, clogs, moccasins, sandals, loafers, high heels, and more are repaired by a shoe cobbler. They also know how to solve a variety of other things. Zippers, belts, handbags, luggage, and other leather accessories are included.
